It seems as though it was 9 o’clock at night as I’m approaching Mrs. S's math class in the yellow pod. I must be five minutes late but she is letting me into class. I walk into the room baffled as I’m accustomed to her being her usual self and sweeping people who are less than half a second late to her class. The room seems very bright and for that previous few seconds everything was wavy and bright- my vision is blurry. Now the blurriness stops and the desks are huge as Mrs. S, again out of her usual character, decides to have a party in her classroom. She is pulling out some “beverages” and…
The dream ends as abruptly as it started. Right after I wake I realize there was no auditory element to the dream. I am baffled as to why I dreamt of Mrs. S as she is one of those teachers I would prefer to forget about.

back: skiing states
It may be an understatement to say that its been a little while since i have last blogged. One may imply that the lack of blogging may seriously impair writing skill. I hope that is not the case as i now begin to fire back up the writing.
First off, my main excuse for not blogging would be this past break from school. On top of that, it was my final skiing state finals up north and in computer exile for the past week. I just recently returned home from Marquette all the way up in the U.P. But i first began the week once again getting sick with another unexplainable cold. It seems as though my immune system is flawed as i extract every new virus or cold that comes around. Despite this, i still made time to train and ski as much as my body would allow for. This goes to say that i hardly did anything but ski and sleep off the stupid cold. Fast forwarding to last Sunday, my dad, brother, and i got up early to drive the rest of the way up to Marquette from our condo in Petoskey. I had imagined a more boring drive but this one did not turn out so. For the parts that i was awake, i got to see the natural landscape accompanied by the many small towns of the Upper Peninsula. Three and a half hours later we were in the small , somewhat of a college town of Marquette.
We soon met up with all the rest of our ski team up for states later that night after training. Excitement and anticipation filled us but was soon overlayed by the antics of the night thanks to some ski team alumni that decided to show up at our hotel.
Shortly thereafter came the state competition which was just yesterday. Our ski team was among the other eight that made it and seriously under-skilled in skiing the bigger hills. Needless to say we finished second-to-last in the competition. I still maintain, although, that we had quite the successful season in making it so far.

poem
Oh how badly did i want this season to come
Had it lost its way?
The warmth for some time had won
Soccer in December i watched them play
Snowplows and saltrucks awaiting
As the swans bathe in the unfrozen lake
Little kids in the street are roller skating!
The poor ski hills, snow they cannot make
Then the cold, coming soon in the distance
The excitement and anticipation!
I began my infamous snow dance
El Nino had overstayed its vacation
My lake is now finally frozen
Had it lost its way?
The warmth for some time had won
Soccer in December i watched them play
Snowplows and saltrucks awaiting
As the swans bathe in the unfrozen lake
Little kids in the street are roller skating!
The poor ski hills, snow they cannot make

My lake is now finally frozen
Skiing and hockey can now be chosen

anticipation
Today's date is February 13, 2007. It is currently 1 pm as i am trying to check weather.com for the latest and greatest in weather forecasting. In case those of you who are reading this are out of the loop, there is supposed to be a good amount of snow coming our way! I am not entirely sure how much as of now but last i heard, we were supposed to get between 6-8 inches when all is said and done. Besides from my not being able to check weather.com right now, the real dilemma here is whether or not Walled Lake Central of the the Walled Lake Consolidated school district will have a snow day tomorrow.
Attempt number two is under way right now for checking the current status on this weather. I can't stand this internet right now because it has decided to be very slow right now. Here we go. This just in! The most current forecast from weather.com states that we are set to receive less than one inch of snow through today and then it will proceed to dump a mere 4-6 inches. Tisk. That is down from a supposed 2-4 today and then another 6 or more tonight. Sadly, my pessimistic side is beginning to take over and i am beginning to ponder the possibilities of not having a snow day tomorrow. Or maybe this is just perhaps a defense mechanism that i have unconsciously set upon my mind to relieve the future disappointment of seeing that just about every other school district will have a snow day but ours as i am scrambling to leave for school on time tomorrow morning. I regret to say that my time here is done and the preceeding sentence is most likely a run-on but i will not notice because i have yet to get into the habit of proof-reading my writing.

story continued(see below)
Cory's firefly-lit lights would flicker with every crash of lightning and the hole would tremble. He was very concerned about getting electrocuted but then rembered the water-proof and shock resistant liner that he had installed around his hole a while back. Still, he did not feel completely safe. Suddenly, through his back underground door, winnie the worm came to bear a visit. Winnie needed to find refuge from the soon to be waterlogged grounds from the rain. Cory was anything but unhappy about this but Winnie unfortunately, had some bad news to deliver. Mack the mosquito acquired HIV and was no longer able to test American Red Cross blood anymore. This meant that he could no longer pay rent... uh oh

cold weather weekend
Who knew that this arctic blast would in the end bring us the such fortune of getting some long-awaited snow days. Cold days as they are referred to now. It was just too bad that it was so cold out that it was near impossible to go out and play some pond hockey or rev up the snowmobiles. But in the end, it was a very nice four-day weekend which began for me driving up north mid-day on Friday.
I was off, heading down my extremely short driveway with a mental checklist of what i could have potentially forgotten running through my head. This was too much thinking on my part so i gave up on the checklist and my brother and i were finally out of the driveway. The first two hours of driving up I-75 could not have been any more boring. It was the first time i had sleep prying into my mind trying to veer me off the road every two minutes. To cure my newly acquired narcolepsy, i pulled over and bought some David's Sunflower Seeds so that i could keep myself busy as i drove through the plains of Michigan.
About a half hour later and half of a waterbottle full of sunflower seed shells, the drive got fairl intersting. Before i knew it, i was approaching a giant white squall going about 80 mph. The road suddenly turned white as did everything around us. These whiteouts as they are called accompanied us throughout the rest of the drive up turning a normally 4 hour drive into a agonizing near 5 hour drive.
